U18 Thanksgiving Spiel

The North Hill Curling Club instituted a youth bonspiel in 1997 having both a Junior and Intermediate (now known as U18) divisions. Our intent was to promote competitive curling among our youth thus developing their skills.

 

Other spiels combined juniors and juveniles together, with our U18 and U21 Bonspiels providing a venue for the younger teams to compete against their peers, as well as an event for the older teams.  

 

By 2006, more venues were catering to juniors and it became evident that the more competitive teams were entering spiels based on the prize money being offered.

 

In an effort to focus on curling development, North Hill Curling Club opted to cater to younger teams, and today we are proud to be hosting the 28th Annual U18 Spiel and U21 Mixed Doubles Spiel.

Event Details & Registration

The event will take place on October 11 - 13, 2024.

​

The age requirements of this bonspiel are in alignment with Curling Alberta and Curling Canada: 17 & under as of June 30, 2024 (Born on or after July 1, 2007).

U18 Men and Women

The cost to register for the U18 Men and Women is $320 per team with registrations being accepted starting at 9 a.m. on August 1, 2024.

U21 Mixed Doubles

The cost to register for the U21 Mixed Doubles is $200 per team with registrations also being accepted starting at 9 a.m. on August 1, 2024.
