Rocks & Jocks Open Spiel
TITLE SPONSORS
The North Hill Curling Club is excited to be hosting its 2nd Annual Rocks and Jocks Open Spiel this November!

Building off of last year’s event, we’ve added some new and exciting features to make the Rocks and Jocks Open Spiel even more tantalizing!

Below are details of this year’s event.

Date: November 22-24, 2024
Registration: Opens September 13th @ 10 a.m. (only 20 teams accepted)
Cost: $400 per team due by October 15th by e-transfer to payments@nhcc.ca
Dress Up or Down!
New to this year’s event, we are encouraging teams to get creative and dress up or down for this our theme: Four in the rink, everyone in pink! And to think, we’re only 18-months behind the Barbie pink craze. #winning
Bonspiel Format
Men's, women's and mixed teams are welcome to register. 8-end games with a three-game guarantee. Teams will be seeded in the A, B or C event based on wins/losses. The winner of the A-Event will take home the $1,000 grand prize, courtesy of our Rainbow Sponsor, Carlin Koster Real Estate.
Raffles
This year will feature more 50/50 draws and a raffle table full of items donated by local businesses.
Toonie Hog Pot
Bring your toonies for a chance to win the Toonie Hog Pot if you hog one or more rocks during your game. Last year’s winner took home over $50.
Double Takeout Board
In each draw, the last team to remove two opponent’s stones in their game will win four complimentary drinks courtesy of our Double Takeout Sponsor - Rocky Mountain Wine Spirits & Beer.
Friday Night Karaoke Party
We are bringing sexy back with our Friday night karaoke party with well known host Catherine from Backlot and Twisted, sponsored by TD Bank.
Saturday Meal Banquet
Included with your registration, we will feast together before the evening’s activities.
Saturday Night Quick Drag and Runway Show
Hosted by local drag performer, Tana Nuff, teams will choose (or force) one of their teammates to be made over in a classic quick drag challenge. Creating fierce and spicy looks, each team will be provided with ‘drag bags’ full of makeover essentials and will have access to the drag swag supplies table. Each team will race against the clock to create what may become Canada’s next drag superstar (but probably not).
Each team’s queen will then walk the runway to showcase their look.

Throughout the evening Tana Nuff will entertaint us with her performances, so bring your cash and support our local drag community.

We’re so excited to be hosting Calgary’s LGBTQ+ curling community for what is sure to be a weekend full of fun and likely a lot of pink feather boas, and we can’t wait to see you all again.
