Juvenile Bonspiel

The North Hill Club instituted a youth bonspiel in 1997 having both a Junior and Intermediate (now known as Juvenile) divisions. Our intent was to promote competitive curling among our youth thus develop their skills. At the time, there were very few choices for them. All the other spiels mixed juniors and juveniles together. Our bonspiel provided a venue for the younger teams to compete against their peers as well as an event for the older teams.  By 2006, other venues were catering to junior spiels and it became evident that the "better" teams entered because of the money being offered as prizes. Since we were into this for development, the Club opted to concentrate on the younger teams.
