Club Playoffs

Following the final go-rounds for week-night curling, the "second" season begins; e.g. the Club Playoffs!  Rules and eligibility have also changed somewhat. We are in the process of making changes (began last year) and like last year, the Club Playoffs will be conducted differently:

1) All teams will qualify for some playoff dependant upon their seasonal record. In some cases teams can elect to change the category to which they have been assigned;

2) There will be seven categories.  These are: Men's, Women's , Mixed, Open, Sr Men's, Sr Women's (no entries in past), and Player's Event.  With the exception of the Player's Event, winners of each will represent the Club at the Calgary & Area Club Managers Championships (ie, Cities) being held this season at the Calgary Winter Club. A Player may only play at Cities on one team

3) Following the final game of the go-round, every Team's first game in the Playoffs will be on the team's regular curling night.  Thereafter, check the draw!  Teams will playdown to a manageable number and during the 3rd week (Mon-Tue-Wed), each event will declare a winner.

4) Teams will be automatically entered as either in Men's, Women's or Open (ie, per the name of their league). While restrictions apply, a Team may elect to enter another competition.  Teams not qualifying for the Men's, Women's or Open playoffs, will be entered in the Player's Event (Wednesday Women's will have their own consolation event).

5) In Mixed, Senior's and Women's, due to past practice, spots will be made available to our day-time/Sat Night Mixed league winners.  Evening League Teams may also enter the Mixed, Sr Men's or Sr. Women's as well as playing in the event in which they were slotted.  Teams will be permitted one substitution (from their regular night) in order to meet  gender or age requirements.
